In seeking to serve God as one of Central’s co-pastors, Tom
has the opportunity to see the difference that God makes in human beings,
in the church, and in the world. Tom was born in Minnesota, but he was raised in Louisiana. He attended Louisiana Tech University, where he earned undergraduate degrees in mathematics and physical education, as well as a master’s degree in mathematics. When he eventually yielded to God’s call to the ordained ministry, he attended Columbia Theological Seminary, in Decatur, Georgia. When Tom graduated from Columbia, he was called to Westminster Presbyterian Church, Hot Springs, Arkansas, where he providentially met his future wife Cathy Jones when she preached for a pastor nominating committee from Arkadelphia. Before being called to Central Presbyterian Church, Tom served as the chaplain at the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas, where he continues to teach some courses as an adjunct instructor. Tom’s involvement in the local community has led him to serve on the boards of the Arkansas Valley Habitat for Humanity and the Inter-faith Community Preschool, and he currently serves on the Institutional Review Board of St. Edward Mercy Hospital. At the presbytery level, Tom has just begun his second term on the Committee on Preparation for Ministry, and for several years he has graded ordination exams from the students at our Presbyterian seminaries. Tom feels greatly blessed to be associated with Central Presbyterian Church.

to worship and serve Jesus Christ. |
