Evangelism - Joe Barron, Martha Cousins
The Evangelism Committee is responsible for spreading the good news of
Jesus Christ to the unchurched of the community and providing an inviting
church home for all those who do not have one. Duties of the
Evangelism Committee:
- to provide a conscientious plan of church promotion;
- to contact, in conjunction with the pastor(s),
potential members in an appropriate and timely fashion;
- to provide a program of assimilating new members into
the life and work of the church;
- to facilitate the work of the Stephen Ministry.
Christian Education - Tom Daniels, Jay Hyatt
Responsible for the education ministry and the
school of the church.
The Christian Education Committee provides scholarships to camps and
conferences for children and adults, provides care and training for
teachers, supports the Confirmation Class, arranges for a church
librarian, recommends candidates for receiving the University of the
Ozarks scholarship. The committee also acts as the liaison for
Boy Scout Troop 110 and Venture Crew 1111, and oversees the activities and
projects of Central's Youth group.
This committee oversees the seasonal plays presented by
the children during Christmas and Easter and on Wednesday evenings in
October they sponsor "Kirk Night" which begins with dinner served family
style, and classes for all ages.
Building & Grounds Committee - Gale Beckman, Larry Hall, Rodney Ghan
This committee has oversight of the buildings which make up the church
plant and the considerable grounds surrounding them. This includes any
maintenance or repair or lawn care. This committee is currently
working on the planning and execution of the Sanctuary Renovation project.
Outreach- Suzanne Bethell, Cathy Addis, Hazel Ann Oliver, Tena Jefferson
This committee is responsible for identifying and supporting mission
projects. There are a significant number of
Outreach concerns currently being supported by Central. The
Committee also oversees the Presbyterian Coffee Project, which supplies
Fairly Traded Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for use by the church and is
sold to those who like excellent coffee.
Worship - Bert Hardy, Kevin Smith
This committee is responsible for recommending to the session each year
dates for celebrating the Lord's Supper and for maintaining the list of
homebound members who wish to receive the sacrament. The weekly
worship life of the congregation is supported
by this committee, which also plans seasonal services of worship during
Advent, Christmas, Ash Wednesday, Lent, and Pentecost.
Stewardship - Carl Rose, Galen Hunter, Tom Daniels, Kellie Franklin
This committee reviews the monthly financial statements, oversees the
group that counts the Sunday offering, plans and implements the annual
Stewardship Campaign as well as the four special denominational offerings.
Personnel - Kelli Lee, Tena Jefferson, Hazel Ann Oliver
This committee provides care and support of the office staff, acts as
human resources, and oversees any transition in support staff. |
